Del Obipso Park is located just over one block to the beach and within walking distance to several condo neighborhoods.  One of the newest is the new South Cove community which sits just south of the park.  These are brand new construction condos and townhouses with model homes slated to be open in the next couple of months. The South Cove community is well under construction as they build brand new condos near Doheny Beach in Dana Point.  South Cove will feature a total of 168 condos with three unique floor plans to choose from.  We have already received a large number of calls for interested buyers for this community.  One of the reasons it's for it's location and attractive price points.  The location is just one block away from Doheny Beach and the Dana Point Harbor.  Clients can cross over the Dana Point bridge that goes over Pacific Coast Highway which leads directly to the beach. The original model homes that were first developed by the builder and used to show potential clients what upgrades could be achieved are now being offered for sale.  The Grand Monarch is a luxury gated community that is connected to the former St. Regis Monarch Beach Hotel which is now called the Monarch Beach Resort.  The community sits in front of the Monarch Beach golf links and does offer some ocean views from select units.  The model homes are being sold completely furnished which is ideal for those looking for a great vacation home.

The historic lantern district has gone under some major transformation on the last several years as the city has spent a lot of money revitalizing the downtown historic district in Dana Point.  The biggest change is a dual set of two way streets that cut through the city of Dana Point.  Before any of the changes took place Pacific Coast Highway used to be a one way street heading north and traffic would have to go through Del Prado Avenue.

One of the most expensive gated community in Dana Point is located directly on the beach and referred to as "The Strand."  The official name is "The Strand at Headlands" and is located on the beach in front of Strands Beach in Monarch Beach.  It's not uncommon to find homes listed over $20 million dollars on the front row with unobstructed ocean and white water views.  Less expensive homes can be found on the 2nd and 3rd rows back with a great selection of Contemporary and Mediterranean style homes.  A good example of this is a brand new listing at 35 Beach View that is expected to hit the market at $14,250,000.  The photos pictured below are from that house that offers one of the most elegant Contemporary homes that we have come across at the Strand.

When it comes to looking for a home in the Dana Point area that are many factors that come into play.  For those who have young children finding a location that is within close proximity to good schools is important.  One of the more popular schools in Dana Point is the Del Obispo elementary school located at the cross streets of Del Obispo and Camino Del Avion.  The Marco Forster middle school and Kinoshita elementary school are also located here making this a prime spot to live near.  There are several neighborhoods that are within walking distance to these schools are here is a quick guide.

First, right across there street is a community called Parkside Place.  This is a great family neighborhood for a variety of reasons.  First, the homes are all
