The Dana Point area is filled with a wide range of properties from beach front, ocean view and properties located in upscale gated communities. One of the more desirable locations in Dana Point is the bluff front that overlooks the Dana Point Harbor and the many ships and yachts located in the small body of water that leads out to the Pacific Ocean. The bluff that overlooks the Harbor is actually very small with only a small section of properties that occupy this premier lot location. The bluff occupies a mixture of residential homes and condo buildings so depending on your budget there may be the perfect property. The largest and most upscale condo complex located on the bluff is the Admiralty community. The Admiralty is a collection of only 27 luxury townhouses that sit on the ocean front. Not all homes will offer these types of views as some are located behind other homes which blocks all or some of the views. The most difficult part about this community is the low inventory of homes. On average, one or two homes coming on the market every year and they are typically not bluff front properties. Expect real estate prices to be north of $2 to $3 million dollars, especially if it has a direct view of the harbor.
For those considering a more affordably priced condo then the Las Marianas community may be the better suited. This is a large condo complex that offers 36 residential condos. The condos themselves are much smaller than what you would find at the Admiralty and average around 1,200 square feet. Currently there is one condo for sale at $1,200,000 that offers unobstructed views of the Dana Point Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. It's located on the top floor and features a total of two bedrooms, two baths with 1,156 square feet of living space. the condo also comes with gated subterranean parking and interior washer/dryer.
There are also custom single family homes located on Santa Clara street. This is the premier street that overlooks the Harbor and is considered prime real estate for Dana Point. There are currently three homes on the market located on Santa Clara that are priced between $3,145,000 to $9,888,000. The lowest priced property is not actually built yet but has approved plans for a 7,504 square foot home. The other two homes are located on the north end of the Harbor with views looking down the coastline towards San Diego. Both of these homes range from 5,308 to 6,469 square feet and have direct ocean and harbor views.
