Dana Point Cottage Style Homes

The city of Dana Point has some beautiful Cottage Style homes that have a lot charm to them. Many of these homes can be found in a couple different areas throughout the city with the highest concentration found in the Capistrano Beach area of Dana Point. This area was originally developed in the 1920's when smaller Spanish style homes were built throughout this area. Some of these original homes still exist which show the origins of this great neighborhood. In the 1950's is when we saw a large number of these homes being built due to the popularity of people living in smaller beach towns rather than in the large cities. The one good thing they did was build a variety of architectural styles that range anywhere from Cottage, Spanish, Traditional and Craftsman style homes.
Another great area to look that has a similar feel to it is the Lantern Village area of Dana Point. If you head up the hill from the Downtown Lantern Village district of Dana Point you will find this area. This area is also filled with Cottage and other architectural style homes but the biggest difference is that you will find some duplex, triplex and four-plex properties mixed in with the residential single family homes. In contrast, the large majority of properties found in the Capistrano Beach area features mainly detached single family homes.
