Dana Point Historic Ocean View Homes

Dana Point has a limited number of historic properties that are located all throughout the city limits with a high concentration in the downtown area called the Lantern District.  For the most part many of these homes will not offer any kind of a view but there a few select historic properties that will offer nice ocean views.  Depending on your budget there are a couple great places to start your search.  First, on the high end two of the best places to look would be on either the street Beach Road or along the cliffside overlooking the Dana Point Harbor on Santa Clara Avenue.

Beach Road is a 24 hour guard gated community that features homes that located directly on the sand.  For anywhere in Orange County this is very hard to find and this community tends to offers some of the most affordable ocean front properties in all of Southern California.  Properties here were first built here in the 1920's and the views are exceptional from this location.  The beach is your backyard along with the security of living in a guard gated community.  It's important to note their are train tracks that run directly behind these homes so if you are sensitive to noise please keep this in mind when looking for a home here.

Homes located on Santa Clara are also considered ocean front but offer a totally different location and experience.  These homes are located high on the bluff that overlooks the ocean and often the Dana Point Harbor.  There is a very small number of historic properties located on this street so inventory of available homes tends to be always very limited.  The views are pretty sensational that often incorporates views of the yachts that are docked at the harbor.  It's hard to go wrong with either of these locations as they both offer wonderful ocean views.  For a tour of homes similar to these please contact out local Dana Point Real Estate agents at 949-604-4114.
