Dana Point has a nice selection of historic homes that can be found in different neighborhoods throughout the city. As they rarely don't come on the market for sale they do however do come on the market on the rental market. There are a few neighborhoods where we see them come on the market which will be explained here. The first most popular community to find historic rental homes is the Beach Road community. This is a private gated community that is considered one of the best places to find vacation rentals. We get a lot of requests from those looking for weekly rentals but for the most part these are only rented by the month and typically have seasonal rates which mean higher rates during the summer months of June, July & August. The historic properties here can be really cute with a lot of charm which can date back to the early 1920's. Another location is the Capistrano Beach area where there are a smaller number of historic single family homes situated here. These are typically surrounded by other detached single family homes which is a mixture of owner occupied and rental homes.
Another great place to look is the Lantern Village area of Dana Point. You will know this area just by the street names which tend of have the word "Lantern" in them. So street names like Violet Lantern, Golden Lantern, etc are all located in this Downtown area of Dana Point. This is where many of the historic homes are located and they do come on the rental market on a regular basis. Some of the best rental prices can also be found in this area too. For the most part these rentals are for a 1 year basis to start which is pretty typical here in Southern California with the exception of the Beach Road community.
