Dana Point Homes Blocks To The Beach

For those looking for a property that is located blocks to the beach in Southern California one of the best places to look is the city of Dana Point. One of the main reasons for this is that there are many luxury neighborhoods that are located on the ocean side of the 5 freeway as this was the master plan of the city, especially for those homes located in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point. Within this area are some of the most expensive neighborhoods like Monarch Bay, Ritz Cove, Niguel Shores and The Strand at Headlands. These offer some spectacular ocean front homes as well as properties that are located within a short walking distance to beach. These can be very expensive homes so for those looking for some more affordable options we always recommend the Capistrano Beach area of Dana Point.
The Capistrano Beach area is very charming with a variety of older homes mixed in with newer contraction homes. The properties that are located on the ocean side of the 5 freeway are the best homes that offer a closer location to the beach. It's not uncommon to find detached single family homes in this area for just over $1 million dollars. I really like this area since all of the homes have been custom built so there is a nice variety of architectural styles which makes the neighborhood more interesting in my opinion. One thing to keep in mind about this area is the walk to the beach takes a little longer than other areas in Dana Point. The main reason for this is that the community is located at the top of a large Bluff that doesn't offer any access so there is a short driving distance down the hill on either side of the Capistrano Beach neighborhood. This area also offers very easy freeway access which is a huge plus for those who commute to work.
