The year 2020 is in the review mirror now and we are all looking optimistically for the year 2021. The Dana Point real estate market was very active in the last spring, summer and winter months as low inventory and reduced mortgage interest rates really drove the demand for buyers looking to make a purchase. So far in January 2021 the record activity continues as homes are not staying on the market for very long if they are priced correctly. There are many buyers in the market right now that are looking for new construction homes that will be built and completed this year in 2021. These are typically individual property owners selling homes as spec homes and not homes located in a brand new community.
With this being said, the best community to find homes that are still being built is the Strand at Headlands community located in the upscale Monarch Beach area of Dana Point. These are some of the most expensive homes found in Dana Point with real estate prices that can easily be over the $10 million dollar price point due to it's beach close location and being located within a guard gated community. The Strand has two different sections to it with one section offering ocean front homes while the other section offers nice ocean view properties. A more affordable option for new construction homes is the South Cove community near the Doheny Beach area. Many of these residential condos have already been built but the builder appears to be finishing the final homes in this community which may offer nice ocean views. Other notable places that new homes may be built is communities like Ritz Cove that still have some undeveloped land where new homes may be built.
