When it comes to looking for a home in the Dana Point area that are many factors that come into play. For those who have young children finding a location that is within close proximity to good schools is important. One of the more popular schools in Dana Point is the Del Obispo elementary school located at the cross streets of Del Obispo and Camino Del Avion. The Marco Forster middle school and Kinoshita elementary school are also located here making this a prime spot to live near. There are several neighborhoods that are within walking distance to these schools are here is a quick guide.
First, right across there street is a community called Parkside Place. This is a great family neighborhood for a variety of reasons. First, the homes are all in the same Cape Cod architectural style and typically have great curb appeal. These come with two car attached garages with a small front and back yard. Most of the three to four bedroom floor plans have all of the bedrooms located on the 2nd level of the home while the main living room, kitchen and formal dining room are located on the entry level. Real Estate prices are well priced for the area and it's not uncommon to see homes selling between the mid $600,000 to low $700,000 range. The second benefit is the prime location near the schools. There are so many children who live in this immediate area that it is considered a very safe place to raise children. The community also has local parks that are located nearby so children always have a lot to do here.
Just south of Parkside Place is another community called Troy homes. This is also a single family home neighborhood that is an easy 5 minute walk to the Del Obispo school. These are traditionally three to five bedroom single family homes that average around 2,000 square feet. Real Estate prices are about the same as Parkside Place and range from $600,000 to $780,000. These are slightly older homes and were built in the late 1960's and early 1970's so if you prefer newer homes than Parkside Place may be a better fit for you. Other notable neighborhoods located nearby include Sea Knoll and upscale neighborhood in Laguna Niguel like Bear Brand Ranch. There are also several San Juan Capistrano neighborhood located within a couple blocks as well so please keep that in mind.
