Dana Point Homes with Sit Down Ocean Views

Dana Point is well known for having wonderful panoramic views from many locations throughout this beach town.  While having an ocean view is always a selling point an upgrade to this would be having a sit-down ocean view.  What exactly does this mean.  A sit down ocean view is where you can be sitting down in your home and have a nice view of the ocean.  Many real estate properties online that advertise an ocean view can range from a small peek-a-boo view where you have to stretch to see the ocean while other views can be seen while you walk through the home but not when sitting down.  When you have a sit-down view it's considered a premium view in the eyes of real estate agents.  There are several places to look in the Dana Point area to find these kind of views.

First, the city of Dana Point is built on a gradual hillside so homes that are located higher on the hill typically will have a commanding view.  This is especially true in the Lantern Village area which is considered the "downtown area" of Dana Point.  The lower section obviously doesn't have that great of views but as you start to up the hill like on streets like Silver Lanter, Alcazar and Cooper Lantern you will have wonderful sit down ocean view properties.  Located just above this area is the gated communities of Waterford Pointe and Diamond Ridge Estates.  This is pretty much located at the very top of the hill and the views can be truly amazing.  Look for homes located on the front row in Waterford Pointe for their amazing panoramic views!

There is another section in the Lantern Village area that doesn't get a lot of attention but the views are really amazing.  Just above the Dana Point Harbor is the street of Green Lantern next to the Chart House restaurant.  I personally think these are some of the best views you can find in Dana Point as you look directly down onto the boats and yachts in the Harbor and have direct ocean and coastline views.  The only downside to this location is that you only enjoy morning sunset views and miss some wonderful sunset views due to it's orientation.  Other notable areas can be found in the Monarch Beach area where many homes offer sit down views.  For more information on finding an ocean view home in the Dana Point area please contact any of our local real estate agents at 949-606-4114 today.
