Driving through the center part of Dana Point and you will notice many streets that are named in the nautical theme. Streets names like Golden Lantern, Amber Lantern, Silver Lantern, Cooper Lantern, Violet Lantern and Blue Lantern are some of the oldest existing streets in the Dana Point area that date back to the 1920's when some of the first homes were built here in Dana Point. The city has always had a very strong maritime connection with the Dana Point harbor where you will find many of the property owners yachts parked here today.
The street of the Golden Lantern is large street that starts at the Dana Point harbor and goes all the way to the Dana Point and Laguna Niguel city limit line. Golden Lantern basically cuts through the middle of the city and is often used as a directional starting point when getting to most places in the Dana Point area. North of Golden Lantern are the streets Violet Lantern, Amber Lantern and Blue Lantern. This is an area where you will find many beautiful older homes that have wonderful views of the ocean. Some of my favorite historic homes are found on the street of the Blue Lantern and are considered the largest in the area. Homes are built on a gradual hill that offers them the panoramic views of the city.
South of Golden Lantern are the streets Silver Lantern and Cooper Lantern. This area of Dana Point is where you will find more residential income properties mixed in with single family homes. Many of the income properties will be a variety of duplex, triplex and four-plex properties that offer close proximity to the beach. As you head east on these streets the homes are built on a gradual hill side when affords great ocean views. These streets are very small and only cover a three block radius that are defined by Pacific Coast Hwy and Selva Road.
Below is a sample of homes available on these Lantern streets. Dana Point is rich in history and we would love to answer any questions you may have about any of the homes here. Please contact us at 949-606-4114 today!
