Dana Point has many luxury rental communities to choose from that offers many high end amenities. Prices can really vary depending on the size of the home, location and the time it's available for rent. The high season for rentals is currently during the spring and summer months when owners can ask for a premium in rent for short term leases. For those looking for luxury long term rental homes then should consider the following communities.
The Strand at Headlands is by far the most expensive neighborhood in all of Dana Point and offers a wide variety of oceanfront, ocean view and beach close properties. Some of the first homes were built here in 2008 situated in the North Strand community. The North Strand occupies three rows of street with a front row oceanfront street and then two ocean view streets that are situated one row behind each other respectively. The community is gated but still has to allow anyone who wants to access the beach the right to walk through the community on a dedicated beach path. There is plenty of security here with a 24 hour guard gate and security patrol. One of the perks of living here is the stunning oceanfront clubhouse with an amazing pool and spa area and ocean view workout room. There is also a full bar and kitchen area that makes it the perfect setting for entertaining. Currently, one home located on the 2nd row is available for a long term 12 month lease at $52,500 a month. It features five bedrooms and 6,659 square feet of living space. I have personally taken a tour of this home and the quality is unsurpassed. Since it was built in 2014 the home offers a wide range of modern amenities and wonderful ocean views.
Another option when looking for luxury rental homes with ocean views in the Dana Point area is the oceanfront community of Monarch Bay. This community offers a small handful of short term vacation rental homes that are available to rent on a monthly basis while the large majority of properties are seeking on a longer 12 month lease. Monarch Bay is another guard gated community located closer to the city of Laguna Beach and offers ocean view homes that were mainly built in the 1960's. Often times these are single level homes that offer a lower level basement area to maximize the views of all the homes in the neighborhood. Rental prices in Monarch Bay are significantly a lot less than the Strand and currently start at $9,950 a month for a four bedroom 3,600 square foot ocean view home. The highest priced ocean view rentals currently go up to $18,000 for a 2005 built ocean view home that features 5,000 square feet of living space and is requesting a 12 month lease.
The lowest priced option in our list is a luxury townhouse community called the Admiralty. The Admiralty sits directly above the Dana Point Harbor and offers wonderful ocean views in the center of town. For those who love to able to walk to small boutique stores, high end restaurants and grocery stores this is the ideal location. Townhouses rarely come on the market here since only 27 of these homes were built. A new ocean view rental listing has just came up that is simply stunning with over 3,500 square feet of living space with 3 large bedrooms and four private view decks. The main ocean views are featured on the main level that consists of a large living room with vaulted ceilings, gourmet kitchen with 2 Sub Zero fridges, dual microwaves and large center island with cooktop. The master suite features a dual sided fireplace, his and her walk-in closet and vanity as well as it's own private outdoor patio. This home is available at $10,000 a month as a 12 month lease.
