Dana Point is a beautiful harbor town here in Southern California and there are many opportunities to buy new construction homes that offer views of the Pacific Ocean. For those looking for new construction homes built in 2014 there are several neighborhoods to consider that we will cover here.
First, the best place to look if budget is no option is The Strand development in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point. A large number of homes are still being built for this community that is only several years old. The land in this area was sold at the height of the market and quickly sold out within days. Owners of these ocean view lots have slowly been building very large estate homes that are often price well above the $10 million dollar price point. The neighboring South Strand community has recently broken ground in the last year with several new constructions homes coming on the market. These ocean view homes are slightly cheaper and can be found in the mid $6 to $7 million dollar range.
Second, the Ritz Cove community which shares the land next to the adjacent Ritz Carlton hotel is another place to find newer construction homes. Approximately 90% of the homes have been built on the land in this community but we still see brand new homes being built here. This is a very upscale gated neighborhood was first built in the early part of the 1990's and is still considered the premier neighborhood in Dana Point. Similar to The Strand, Ritz Cove offers a variety of ocean front and ocean view homes located very close to the beach. Currently there are two new construction ocean view homes offered for sale now and priced in the mid $8 million dollar range.
Finally, the Monarch Bay Terrace community is a most affordable option than the Ritz Cove and The Strand developments. Monarch Bay Terrace is an older community that offers homes located in the hills on the Monarch Beach area that often overlook the ocean. New construction homes don't come on the market very often in this community as many of the homes have been built for many years in this neighborhood. A brand new home has recently come on the market here and is currently priced at $2,850,000. The homes offers 3,000 square feet of ocean view living and is ideally located just minutes to the Salt Creek Beach area.
