Dana Point Ocean View Homes

The California Cortina neighborhood is located in the Ritz Pointe gated community in Dana Point, California.  The community shares a common guard gated entrance with the Monarch Hills condos and Ritz Point neighborhood.  This is a great community for those who enjoy larger scale homes with golf course and some ocean views.  The most coveted streets in this neighborhood is called "Cassis."  Homes on this street sit right next to the Monarch Links golf course and have wonderful golf course views.  Some of these houses will also enjoy some ocean views and are located on a single loaded street with no homes located behind them.

The Niguel Shores gated community in Dana Point is made up of several neighborhoods that all share the same neighborhoods amenities and gated entrance.  A very small neighborhood called the Broadmoor community is centrally located and situated next to the Niguel Shores clubhouse and community amenities as pictured below.  There are roughly 75 homes located in this neighborhood that occupy three small streets known as Windjammer, Brigantine and Windlass Drive.  Perched just above the clubhouse the homes have a nice vantage point to include the horizon with nice ocean, Catalina Island and sunset views.  Single story residences can include vaulted ceilings, formal living and dining rooms, atrium courtyard, dual sided fireplaces with two and three car

The Pointe Monarch community is a luxury community in Dana Point that has a very nice ocean view homes.  The community is one of the newer communities in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point with homes built 10 years ago.  The homes have a really unique beach close location that has direct beach access by going through the tunnel that runs from the St Regis Hotel to the beach.  The best ocean view homes are those located on the front row and on the street "Via Corsica."  All of these homes will have great golf course views of the Monarch Beach golf links that sits in front of the St Regis hotel.  The lower number homes on this street tend to have the best ocean views.

Finding a single level home in a gated community can be difficult depending on what price range one is looking.  There are many one story homes throughout Dana Point but very few are on the market for sale located in a gated neighborhood.  The number gets even more limited if a buyer is looking for an ocean view as well.  There are two gated communities that we recommend that have a large number of one story homes which will be explained here.

First, the Monarch Bay oceanfront neighborhood is the number one location for finding one story homes in Dana Point located in a gated community. The Ritz Pointe community is one of the top communities in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point and features stunning golf course views homes.  There are several individual tracts within Ritz Pointe that sit next to the Monarch Beach golf links course that include the California Cortina neighborhood.  There are two streets that run parallel and front the golf course which consist of Via Monarca Street and Cassis Street.  Via Monarca street is located in the Ritz Pointe neighborhood and sits directly next to the golf course.  The below photo shows exactly who close the homes sit next to the golf course with the St. Regis hotel in the background.  Many times these homes will have panoramic ocean views as well.

Del Obispo is a great place to find ocean view properties in the Dana Point area.  The Del Obispo area is located approximately one mile to the beach and runs parallel with the 5 freeway and the San Juan Creek.  Many of the homes that do offer a view will have coastline views looking towards San Clemente.  The two best communities to view ocean view properties is the Bal Harbour and Village at Dana Point communities.

Bal Harbour is a premier gated neighborhood with large scale homes that are pictured below.  The community sits high on a hill side just north of the San Juan Creek and can offer sensational views.  Not all homes in this neighborhood will offer views of the Pacific Ocean with a select few offer peek and panoramic views.  Real Estate prices

Niguel Shores in Dana Point, California is made up of a lot of different neighborhood that are within the guard gated entrance.  A very nice community called "The Villas" is located across the street from the main Niguel Shores neighborhood and has it's own individual gated entrance off Selva Road which is commonly known as the "Garibaldi Entrance" as pictured below.  The Villas are one story Spanish style homes located on four small individual cul-de-sac streets with attached garages and interior courtyards.  Built in the late 1970's, these homes have a lot of character and charm with vaulted ceilings, outdoor decks with properties located around the permitter offering wonderful ocean and Catalina Island views.

Monarch Bay is one of the more exclusive gated neighborhoods in Dana Point and is one of the most expensive ocean front communities.  Only a small select homes will be located on the bluff front which resides next to the "Three Arch Bay" community to the north and the Ritz Carlton neighborhood called "Ritz Cove" to the south.  These are often understated homes that are single level and located on large over-sized lots.  Many of the bluff front properties have coastline and white water views looking towards the San Clemente area.

Dana Point has seen some great home sales in 2014 with the highest sale coming in at $9.4 million dollars in the luxury Ritz Cove community.  The home pictured below featured four large bedrooms, four baths and 5,200 square feet of living space.  It was situated on the front row and featured direct ocean and park views.  The upstairs suite was located on the second level and had it's own private balcony.  The interior was equally stunning with a spiral staircase, soaring ceilings and classic Mediterranean arches to carve out the view.  The Ritz Cove community is a 24 hour guard gated community that is located adjacent to the 5 star Ritz Carlton hotel.  It's considered one of the premier oceanfront communities in Dana Point and holds the prize for having

Diamond Ridge Estates is one of the most exclusive gated neighborhoods in the Dana Hills area of Dana Point, California.  The community was built in two sections and has two individual neighborhoods within the gated compound as commonly known as Diamond Ridge Estates I & II.  Diamond Ridge I homes were the earlier homes built in this community and constructed between 1999 to 2001.  The majority of the homes are around 4,000 square feet and occupy the best ocean view streets known as Catherine Way and Holtz Hill Drive.  On average only one property will come on the market every year here and normally be priced between one to $1.2 million dollars.
