Dana Point Real Estate

Crystal Cove is an ocean view community near Crystal Cove park in the Lantern Village area of Dana Point.  This is a popular area that is located on a hill just above Pacific Coast Highway with homes overlooking the park with wonderful coastline and ocean views.  The views are mainly to the south with the bluff front Marriott Hotel and coastline starting from the Doheny Beach area and continuing down past San Clemente.

The Crystal Cove Park is a long stretch of grassy area with a walking trail around the park.  At the very far end of the park is a fenced in dog park area which also offers views of the ocean.  This is a public park that is free for residents to enjoy and located very close to the downtown Dana Point area

Dana Point is a city that is rich in history and dates back to the early 1920's when some of the first homes were built here.  The downtown and Capistrano Beach area is the most populated area for these older homes that are often built in the Spanish architectural style.  Located on the beach are a small handful of historic homes that are considered beach front since they literraly sit next to the sandy beach.  This area of Dana Point is often referred to as Beach Road or Capistrano Bay.  The community has changed dramatically since the 1920's as many of the homes have been built on the empty lots with huge Mediterrean and Contemporary style homes.

Monarch Cove is a very small and intimate community in Dana Point that offers homes with commanding views of the Monarch Beach golf links and Pacific Ocean.  The homes were first built in the year 2000 and completed in 2007.  These are large luxury estate homes that all feature over 6,000 square feet of living space with ocean and golf course views as pictured below.

To enter the community you first have to go through the Ritz Cove guard gated community.  This is located next to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and is home to ocean view and oceanfront homes that sell between $4 to $20 million dollars.  The general public can park next to this community and take the beach access that goes in front of these luxury properties.

Dana Point has many unique areas located within the city that include Capistrano Beach and Monarch Beach.  Capistrano Beach is a small section of that is located just north of San Clemente and west of the 5 freeway.  This section of Dana Point includes homes that are located just blocks to the ocean front on a huge cliff that overlooks the ocean.  At the bottom of this cliff are beach front homes that sit directly on the beach as pictured below.

This area is very reminiscent to many of the Malibu beach front communities that offer homes that are located very close to each other.  There is a mixture of mega-mansions and older historic beach homes that are located on a small 50 foot wide piece of land.  The neighborhood is often referred to as Beach

The Landing is a nice residential neighborhood in the Dana Hills area of Dana Point.  Located next to the Dana Crest Park area that is very large and has a children play tot and full size basketball court.  The large majority of homes in this community are large two story homes that often come with attached three car garages.  There is also a small selection of single level homes as well in The Landing as pictured below.

Homes sales in the landing are often in the $700,000 range with a very limited supply of homes for sale at any given time.  Compared to other neighborhoods in Dana Point these homes offer exceptional value and average 2,500 square foot  of living space.

Dana By The Sea condos rarely come on the market and offer some of the best ocean views found in Dana Point, California.   The town homes are located on the ocean view streets of Alta Vista and Granada Dr and near the Dana Hills High School.  There is a combination of two to three bedroom models in this community that range from 1,990 to $2,200 square feet.  All these units are located on multiple levels and often come with ocean view decks, vaulted ceilings with main entertainment spaces located downstairs and all the bedrooms located on the upper level.

The Grand Monarch is one of the newest neighborhoods coming to the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point.  The community will be located adjacent to the luxury 5 Star St Regis Hotel in Dana Point with a beautiful collection of 37 luxury town homes to be built later this summer.  The St Regis already has a community adjacent to the community called the "Sea Villas" which feature golf course and ocean view town homes that offer immediate access to all the St Regis hotel amenities.  The 37 homes will have a variety of 3 floor plans that range from 3,797 to 3,975 square feet of living space.

The Pacific Palms community is a series of 8 luxury town homes located on one of the best ocean view streets in Dana Point.  The units are side by side properties in a duplex style housing arrangement with four identical Spanish style structures located in a row.  These have the look and feel of a single family home but share a common wall in between the two units.  As a local real estate agent I see a lot of ocean view properties but the views from this location are simply stunning.  Alta Vista Street is located at one of the highest points in Dana Point and sits directly above the Sea Ridge community.  The views are truly panoramic with coastline views of San Clemente as well.

The Lantern Hill community is one of the few gated communities for condo living in Dana Point, California.  The community was first built in 1986 and offers condos located on the ground or upstairs level.  The community is located on one single street that is called "Lantern Hill Drive" that does a circular loop to the main street known as "Stonehill Drive."  This is a gated community with two gates off Stonehill Drive with one gate used for entrance only and the other gate used for existing the community.

The Spindrifter condo community is located on a beach close street in Dana Point called "Santa Clara Avenue."  This street is located very close to the Dana Point harbor and is considered one of the nicest locations in the Lantern Village area.  The community itself is very small with a total of 8 condos in this complex.  If you are looking for a view property then this complex is not for you.  The condos offer condo living in the heart the city with walking distance to local restaurants, shopping and the harbor.
