Located in the hills of Dana Point lies a small condo community that is known for having amazing views of the Dana Point coastline.  Casa Dana is located on the ocean view street of Alta Vista and features two story town homes with breathtaking views.  A new listing just came on the market in Casa Dana and features 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and 1,531 square feet of living space.  It's on the market for $839,000.

The St Regis in Dana Point is part of the luxury St Regis Hotel chain that is well known for it's 5 star amenities and hotel accommodations.  In 2006, the hotel expanded it's sphere in the Dana Point location and built luxury town homes that sit adjacent to the hotel.  The homes occupy a stretch of land that sits directly on the Monarch Beach Golf links and can have nice golf course and some ocean views.  Homes rarely come on the market since 18 of these units were built.  In the last several years we will typically see one to two units coming up for sale with one sale in 2013 for $2,150,000 and one sale in 2012 for $1,850,000.

Ritz Pointe is located on the Monarch Hills golf course in Dana Point and a prime area to find both ocean and golf course views in the low $2 million dollar range.  This is one of the newer communities in the Dana Point area with homes built in the year 2000 to 2001.  The community is a guard gated neighborhood with two separate gate entrances.  The community shares the same gated area as the Monarch Hills condo complex, the California Cortina and Cornich Sur Mer communities.  The homes in Ritz Pointe were constructed in the formal Mediterranean architectural design with slight variations to the exterior details of the homes.

The Sea Bluffs complex is ideal for those looking for an upscale retirement condo community In Dana Point. In Southern California we have many 55+ and older communities that offers single family homes and condos for sale and for lease. In the neighbor beach town of San Clemente, you will find three such communities known as Colony Cove, Bay Cliff Village and the Talega Gallery. These are large communities that occupy many different homes and buildings throughout the neighborhood. The highest sale in Dana Point last year in 2013 was the property located at 33 Strand Beach, Dana Point that sold for a record $22,250,000.  The home was located in the new development called "The Strand at Headlands" and featured 9,000 square feet of living space on the ocean front.  Situated on three levels the residence featured floor to ceiling doors that retract into the walls and opened to the outdoor terrace & infinity edge pool.  The home was originally listed for $24,995,000 and was on the market for a short 74 days when the property sold earlier in 2013.  This is a huge sale for the Dana Point community as real estate prices in this price point are often seen in the more expensive communities of Laguna & Newport Beach.  The next highest sale

The Dana Point marina and harbor is one of the highlights of Dana Point.  The harbor is a great place to dock your boat and to take a day shuttle to Catalina Island.  Some of the best neighborhoods in Dana Point are naturally located near the Marina and range from luxury gated communities to small condo complex's.  Here is a quick guide for the different communities near the Marina.

1)  The Lantern Bay Estates community is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the Marina area with a nice collection of large two story homes with select properties offering wonderful ocean and Harbor views.  Real Estate prices have remained strong over the years and currently there are no homes offered for sale but expect to find homes between the $1.5 to $2 million

Monarch Beach has many condo complex's that offer affordable options when looking in this very expensive area of Dana Point.  One of my all time favorite condo complex's in Monarch Beach is the "Tennis Villas."  These are luxury condos located on one single level.  Condos located on the lower level will have a nice patio area while upstairs units have a generous size view deck.  The last condo I sold in this complex had this view of the St. Regis hotel as pictured below.  My client loved the trickling sound of the fountain out front and used the 5 star amenities at the hotel including the day spa, restaurants and walking paths to the beach!  The community is gated with a manual control and features a nice community pool for residents to use.  Many of the

New Construction homes in the Dana Point area are best located in the new ocean front and ocean view community called "The Strand." In the last 12 months the Strand has been selling ocean view lots in record numbers and many have turned these into re-sale packages with new constructed homes to be built on these lots.  The Strand is recent development here in Dana Point and was the last untouched parcel of ocean front land just several years ago and today more and more homes are being built as the photo that was taken today depicts below.  In the last several years the ocean view lots have been selling steadily even with the downturn in the real estate market.  The community has a lot of to offer including a gated entrance for both the North and South

This has been an exciting time in the Dana Point real estate market as more and more homeowners and builders are electing to buy vacant land and build custom homes rather than buy re-sale homes.  This is a strong indicator when the market is starting to improve and is a great sign for the local real estate market.  More and more buyers have been looking and purchasing ocean view land in Dana Point, especially in the new Strand Development in Dana Point.  It wasn't too long ago that these parcel lots were selling in the low $2 million range for a custom lot with views of the ocean and just steps down to the beach.  These prime lots have slowly been purchased in the last year and now starting prices currently begin in the mid $4 million range.  At that time

The Seascape Circle community is one of the hidden gems in Dana Point, California.  Most residents have not heard of this small community due to the small number of homes located here.  The community is situated on the bluff front street of "Camino Capistrano" and sits directly across the street from the homes that overlook the ocean on the bluff front.  The neighborhood is small with only 11 homes built in this community.  The homes do have a homeowners association with rules and regulations with monthly dues of $30.00 a month.

The homes are built in the Traditional Ranch and Cottage style with large two story homes located on large lots on a cul-de-sac street.  As you can imagine these homes rarely come on the market.  Realtors will market some
