Dana Point Vacation Homes On Beach Road

If you have been thinking about moving into a home on the sand in Dana Point there is no better place to go then "Beach Road."  If you are not familiar with Dana Point then a little background information is needed.  The only two places to find beachfront homes in Dana Point is "Beach Road" and "The Strands at Headlands."  The Strand prices currently start at around $19 million for a beachfront home while Beach Road starts In the mid $2 million dollar range.  Of course, the homes are much larger and newer at the Strand but for a fraction of the price you could be living on the sand on Beach Road.

Some of the benefits of owning on Beach Road include ownership of the beach in front of your home, guard gated entrance, and strong re-sale value of these properties.  Just down the street from Beach Road is the beachfront community of Capistrano Shores.  There you will find manufactured homes that sit directly on the sand like Beach Road.  The biggest difference is buying a single family home vs a manufactured home.  Prices of these manufactured homes start just under$2 million and a large group of people prefer the security of buying a traditional single family residence offered at Beach Road.

While $2 million is the start for these waterfront homes, home prices an go as high as $8 million depending on the size and location of the property.  Home sales have picked up in 2012 after a slow past 2 years prior.  Buyers have realized that prices have reached the bottom and looking to buy while prices are still low.

If you are in the market to find a vacation beachfront residence to lease then Beach Road is your place as well. You will find a lot of owners that rent out their homes by the week and by the month.  Book early as summer months tend to book up quickly due to the large demand of tourists looking to stay on the beach.  Expect to pay a couple thousand a week for your basic starter home on the beach.  The surf here doesn't' get that high and swimming is usually done in the summer time due to the ocean's temperature.  Keep in mind, you will find a large amount of rocks on the beach which may not be ideal for small children.
