Lantern Bay Estates ocean view homes capture the true essence of living near the Harbor in Dana Point, California.  Located in the direct center of the city and on the ocean side of Coast Hwy is one of the most top communities in the city limits of Dana Point.  The neighborhood itself is rather small and is home to only 42 homes on 5 small cul-de-sac streets.

The homes elevation is tiered up so many of the homes have wonderful ocean and harbor views as pictured below.  Homes located on the front row street known as "Cove Lantern" will have the most unobstructed views.  The community first started selling lots and homes being constructed in 1984 and was considered at the time the #1 location in Dana Point to build a home.  Over the years these homes have held their value even in the downturn of the real estate market in Dana Point.

The homes in the community are mainly built in the Spanish and Mediterranean style with a nice variety of French Normady and English Cottage style homes mixed in.  The properties are large in scale and can range anywhere from 2,900 square feet for entry level homes to larger estate homes that can go as high as 5,900 square feet.  The community is guarded by a gate keeper who mans the gate in the morning and afternoon hours.  At night, entry in to the community is through a gate opener only.  

One of the neat designs of the community are the access points to the Heritage Park located at the bottom of the three cul-de-sac streets in the community.  A small gate leads you to the park area as pictured below that overlooks the Harbor.  Entrance in through these gates requires a key so outsiders are kept securely out of the community.

Ocean View homes in Lantern Bay Estates currently start at $2,375,000 with two homes on the market at this time.  Association dues average $440 a month and are kept low since the neighborhood does not offer a community pool or clubhouse area.  The views are truly some of the best to be found in Dana Point and a great community if you want to live by the water!
