Mediterranean Ocean View Homes in Dana Point, CA

Dana Point has some wonderful ocean view homes built in the Mediterranean architectural style. Some neighborhoods are more prominent in this architectural style and knowing where to look is the key. One of the first places to start your search is in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point. By far, this is the best place to find high end Mediterranean style homes. The Monarch Beach area is the newest area of Dana Point and is home to many luxury communities that are often gated. We recommend the following communities.
Located next to the Ritz Carlton hotel is the luxury community called Ritz Cove. The neighborhood was built in the last 20 years and that is predominately all Mediterranean style homes. Homes normally start in the high $2 to low $3 million dollar range and can go as high as $20 million dollars for an ocean front home. This is an oceanfront community with one of the best locations in the Monarch Beach area with the Monarch Beach golf links and Salt Creek beach located directly next to this community. Many of the homes in this community offer great views of the ocean with 5 small individual streets to choose from.
Another great community is the Ritz Pointe community. Similar to the Ritz Cove community, the large majority of homes are built in the classic Mediterranean style. The homes have wonderful curb appeal and located next to the luxury St Regis Hotel and Monarch Beach Golf links. This is within walking distance to the Ritz Cove community and a special walking path takes you directly down to the beach. Homes in the Ritz Cove community will normally start under the $2 million dollar price point for a non-view property and typically north of $2 million for an ocean view home. This neighborhood has two guard gates that are located on two ends of the community and has wonderful ocean and golf course views.
One community that is often overlooked is the beachfront community called Beach Road. Here you will find every architectural style from cutting edge Contemporary to your classic Beach Bungalow. However, in the last 20 years many residents have been building beautiful Mediterranean style homes that offer beach front views that are located directly on the sand. The photo taken below is a beach front home located on the Beach Road that was a perfect example of the Mediterrnean style. Of course, ocean views are just the beginning here as the sandy beach is literally your backyard. In the last several years home prices have really come down in this community and it's still possible to find homes in the mid $2 million dollar range on the beach!
