Most Affordable Dana Point Gated Communities

Dana Point real estate prices have always commanded a premium in price due to being a beach town and located next to the Dana Point Harbor. Gated communities have always been considered an extra luxury that is reserved for some of the most expensive homes. There are still some really great values for homes and condos located inside a gated community. The large majority of these are located in the upscale Monarch Beach area that is just south of the city of Laguna Berach. There is where the upscale Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort hotels are located as well as some of the most desirable beach front communities like the Strand at Headlands, Ritz Cove, Niguel Shores and Monarch Bay.
Some of the best values located inside a gated community is the Ritz Pointe Community. This neighborhood is adjacent to the Monarch Beach Resort and has homes that back directly to the golf course. Within the gates is a section of single family homes and condos called Monarch Hills condos is where you can still find properties listed in the $600,000 range. The best part about living here is the location as you can walk directly down to the beach through a dedicated walking trail that goes along the golf course and then under Coast Highway down to the beach. There is also a very nice shopping center located along this same trail which makes it really nice. The single family homes in this neighborhood are obviously more expense and expect to pay closer to $1.5 million or more depending on the view.
Another great community that features detached single family homes is the Monarch Beach community. Look for neighborhoods like Antiqua which currently has a new listing in this gated community listed at $1.1 million. It features 3 bedrooms, 2 baths with an approximate 2,000 square feet of living space. These homes were built in the late 1980's and have always been one of the more affordable properties that are located in a gated community. The only reason I can figure why these homes are so affordable is that the lot sizes tend to be on the smaller size. This new listing has a lot size of 2,800 square feet which means there is not a lot of backyard space. Another great option would be the Tennis Villas condos which are located in a gated community and directly across from the Waldorf Astoria hotel. There is currently one condo listed here for $900,000 for a two bedroom golf course view. Dana Point has some really great places to live and we would love to show some great options.
