Most Expensive Dana Point Homes Sold In 2022

This was a great year for the luxury real estate market in Dana Point as two of the top three highest sales this year took place in the ocean front community of Monarch Bay. It seems like every year the highest sales tend to be in the newer Strand at Headlands community which offers some amazing homes including the third highest sale this year. However, the Monarch Bay community has really gone through a wonderful transformation that first started when the homes switch from being located on leased land to where you own your own land. Since then we have seen a higher interest in this community and even the front gated entrance is seeing a major face lift as well.

63 Monarch Bay Drive, Dana Point comes in as the highest sale at $33 million dollars in March of 2022. This was an ocean front property that offers some of the best views found in Monarch Bay as pictured below. The four bedroom home featured an amazing estimated 7,700 square feet on two different levels and was located on an approximate 17,00 square foot lot. It's not surprising that this property was sold even before it came on the market as it was originally listed at $35 million and sold for just $2 million under this price point. This was a brand new construction home completed in 2022 with cool Contemporary lines with wide open floor plans, multiple outdoor decks with stunning ocean and coastline views.

63 Monarch Bay Drive Dana Point

33 Monarch Bay Drive, Dana Point was the second highest sale and was also located in the Monarch Bay gated community. This was also an ocean front home that ended up selling for $20 million in March of 2022. The two level five bedroom home featured an estimated 10,900 square feet of living space located on an 18,400 square foot lot with an attached three car garage. It was built in 2003 and also offers some incredible ocean views with some of the best coastline views looking south I have seen in Monarch Bay. Some of the amenities that can be found in the Monarch Bay community is it's own private Beach Club which is located right on the sand as well as a 24 hour guard gate and tennis court.

33 Monarch Bay Drive Dana Point

31 Beach View, Dana Point is located in the Strand at Headlands community. This is the community where we normally see the highest sales as it's a very much sought after location for those who was a luxury gated community in Dana Point near the water. The five bedroom with an approximate 6,659 square feet of living space ended up selling for $16,750,00 in September of 2022. If you have been following our posts every year for the most expensive homes sold in Dana Point then you might remember that is property was the most expensive property that sold in 2015 for $13,500,000. The street of Beach View is located just one street above the homes that sit on the ocean front so the homes enjoy wonderful ocean views due to the higher elevation. This property was unique since it was built in the Hamptons architectural style which is very unique for the area. It was only on the market for a total of 22 days and selling just under the original asking price of $17,500,000. The home offered five ensuite bedrooms, a movie theater, covered outdoor decks and private pool that overlooked the ocean. The luxury real estate market still remains very strong in Dana Point and it will be exciting to see what the new year will bring!
