The highest sale in Dana Point last year in 2013 was the property located at 33 Strand Beach, Dana Point that sold for a record $22,250,000.  The home was located in the new development called "The Strand at Headlands" and featured 9,000 square feet of living space on the ocean front.  Situated on three levels the residence featured floor to ceiling doors that retract into the walls and opened to the outdoor terrace & infinity edge pool.  The home was originally listed for $24,995,000 and was on the market for a short 74 days when the property sold earlier in 2013.  This is a huge sale for the Dana Point community as real estate prices in this price point are often seen in the more expensive communities of Laguna & Newport Beach.  The next highest sale below 33 Strand Beach was a $7.5 million dollar sale located on the 2nd row in the same community of The Strand.  Most homes sales in the luxury end tend to be between $3 to $7.5 million in Dana Point.

The Strand At Headlands Dana Point | 33 Strand Beach

The Strand has had a record year for purchases and this sale confirms that the Strand is one of the leading and most expensive community in Dana Point.  Currently, there are 3 homes listed over the $10,000,000 price point in the gated communities of Ritz Cove and The Strand at Headlands.  Ritz Cove is located just north of the Strand is adjacent to the Ritz Carlton ocean from hotel.  Ritz Cove offers a variety of ocean front and ocean view homes with starting prices just above $7 million dollars.  These homes were built starting in the early 1990's so the biggest draw for The Strand community is the newer construction homes.  2014 is forecasted to have an increase in home prices so it will be interesting to see what happens in the Dana Point market.  Below are the current luxury homes for sale in Dana Point over $10 million dollars.  Please contact us with any questions.
