The Monarch Bay community is a great place to find furnished rentals as it's considered on of the top ocean front gated community in the Dana Point area.  The location couldn't be more ideal which is situated just south of Laguna Beach with homes that can offer sweeping ocean views with close proximity to the beach.  One of the best features of this community is the direct access to the beach.  There is plenty of parking as many either take their golf carts or drive down the parking area and then take their beach items directly on to the sand.  There is a great Beach Club located here so make sure you check that out when staying here.  Living here for a month of more is great since it offers a 24 hour guard gate which offers top level security.  Also,

One visit to the Capistrano Beach area of Dana Point and you will fall in love with the unique charm of custom homes that range from the historic 1920's homes that overlook the ocean.  When driving through the area you will notice one prominent street that is "Camino Capistrano" where some of the best bluff front properties can be found.  This area is commonly referred to as "Capistrano Bluffs" due to the name of the street and the area where it's located.  A typical starting price for a home located on the bluff is around $5 million dollars with some properties priced just below this number if it's smaller and in original condition.  When looking at homes online on this street it's important to understand that there are homes located on both sides of the

Dana Woods is a great residential neighborhood in Dana Point that is made up of very cute detached single family homes that are located in the heart of Dana Point near the cross streets of Golden Lantern and Camino Del Avion. One of the latest trends in real estate here by the beach are buyers looking for one story homes with little to no steps.  This makes sense as many of the baby boomers are realizing that they don't need a large home with a lot of levels and have often chosen for a simple one story floor plan.  There are several neighborhoods in the Dana Point area that do offer some nice single level homes even though there are no senior communities like what you would find in the neighboring town of San Clemente like the Talega Gallery, Colony Cove and Bay Cliff Village which all are dedicated tracts for those older than 55 years of age.

Dana Point has a wide variety of architectural style homes with the large majority of homes built in the Mediterranean, Spanish, Traditional with some Contemporary style homes.  One of the unique architectural styles that we are starting to see is the Hamptons style homes. These homes tend to be really grand with an east coast vibe to it with gray siding, white trim around the windows and doors with accent round windows above the French doors.  If you can picture this than this is the essence of a Hamptons style which is also pictured below.

Dana Point has a limited number of historic properties that are located all throughout the city limits with a high concentration in the downtown area called the Lantern District.  For the most part many of these homes will not offer any kind of a view but there a few select historic properties that will offer nice ocean views.  Depending on your budget there are a couple great places to start your search.  First, on the high end two of the best places to look would be on either the street Beach Road or along the cliffside overlooking the Dana Point Harbor on Santa Clara Avenue.

One of my favorite condo communities in Dana Point is the Tennis Villas neighborhood.  One of the main reasons why I like this area as it has a little bit of everything.  First, if you are looking for a beach and golf course close community then Tennis Villas is hard to beat.  It sits next to the Monarch Beach golf links so if you are an avid golfer you are going to love this location.  The golf links do take a separate membership and they are not affiliated with the Tennis Villas but are within walking distance to the golf links clubhouse which is really convenient. Second, it's all about the views at the Tennis Villas which range from panoramic golf course views as pictured below to some ocean views as well.  Finally, it doesn't hurt being located
