Dana Point is well known for having wonderful panoramic views from many locations throughout this beach town.  While having an ocean view is always a selling point an upgrade to this would be having a sit-down ocean view.  What exactly does this mean.  A sit down ocean view is where you can be sitting down in your home and have a nice view of the ocean.  Many real estate properties online that advertise an ocean view can range from a small peek-a-boo view where you have to stretch to see the ocean while other views can be seen while you walk through the home but not when sitting down.  When you have a sit-down view it's considered a premium view in the eyes of real estate agents.  There are several places to look in the Dana Point area to find these kind

Finding a home located on a corner lot has a lot of value to certain real estate home buyers.  A corner lot usually means that you only have neighbor to the side of you offering an extra level of privacy in the backyard.  Inside the home this often also means that you might have windows that overlook open spaces instead of looking at a neighboring house.  Some of the cons for buying a corner lot is that the location might be near a busy street where there is a lot of thru traffic adding to extra noise.  For the most part, having a home in this kind of location is a selling point that many sellers like to advertise when putting a home on the market for sale.  We did a quick search for current homes for sale in Dana Point and found 9 properties that were

The South Cove development is well on it's way with many of the first built condos having been sold.  As we see with many new developments throughout Dana Point once owners have purchased these new homes we start to see those same properties come up for lease.  These are typically from real estate investors who bought these properties as an investment property for the sole purpose of renting them out.  This makes a lot of sense sense the location is extremely close to the beach and Dana Point harbor which points to holding it's value for a long period of time.

Rental prices for the South Cove don't come cheap as you are paying a premium for this beach close location and the newer constructions.  Current rental rates start at $4,250 for a 3 bedroom

Owning a home that's located on a double lot holds a lot of value.  We have seen some really iconic homes that were located on 2 lots be subdivided into two different homes which is really a shame since part of the charm of the home is having the extra land space to really enjoy the Southern California weather and ocean views.  There are still a few homes left that have not been subdivided and still located on double lots. They are few and far between and rarely come on the market for sale.  It's important to note that the price range often reflects the value if the home were subdivided and if two homes were to built in it's place.

A newly listed home in the Lantern Village community has just come on the market and located on a large double lot that

The ocean view street in Dana Point, California known as "Golden Lantern" is one of the most picturesque locations in all of Dana Point.  The location is really ideal as it sits at one of the highest points on the Dana Headlands mountain and looks directly down over the Dana Point Harbor and Pacific Ocean.  The views are simply breathtaking as one can see the many boats and yachts in the harbor as well as the coastline looking towards San Diego.  The street of Golden Lantern mainly has homes located on the north side of the street with the best views located on the upper levels.  There are a few select properties located on the south side of the street that literally look like that are sitting on the cliff's edge overlooking the water.
