One of the best locations that is across the street from the Waldorf Astoria resort hotel is the Tennis Villas gated community.  This is one of my favorite communities as it offers beautiful Mediterranean style townhouses that typically have nice open floor plans and nice finishes to them.  One of the biggest trends in this community is to buy homes in this community and then do short term rentals since the rental industry has boomed recently.  That's why when you look at what is available in the Tennis Villas you will see a lot of rental properties that are offering these short term rental opportunities.  The best time to rent out these homes is during the high season summer months which consists of June, July and August.  During these months a lot of

Dana Point real estate prices have always commanded a premium in price due to being a beach town and located next to the Dana Point Harbor.  Gated communities have always been considered an extra luxury that is reserved for some of the most expensive homes.  There are still some really great values for homes and condos located inside a gated community.  The large majority of these are located in the upscale Monarch Beach area that is just south of the city of Laguna Berach.  There is where the upscale Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort hotels are located as well as some of the most desirable beach front communities like the Strand at Headlands, Ritz Cove, Niguel Shores and Monarch Bay.

One of my favorite condo communities in Dana Point is the Tennis Villas neighborhood.  One of the main reasons why I like this area as it has a little bit of everything.  First, if you are looking for a beach and golf course close community then Tennis Villas is hard to beat.  It sits next to the Monarch Beach golf links so if you are an avid golfer you are going to love this location.  The golf links do take a separate membership and they are not affiliated with the Tennis Villas but are within walking distance to the golf links clubhouse which is really convenient. In addition to having great ocean view homes, Dana Point is home to some of the most spectacular golf course view communities.  The Monarch Beach Golf Links is a public course that is considered one of the best and runs next to the luxury St Regis Hotel.  The best deals for to play on this course is by getting the "annual membership" which allows you to play year around at a low rate.  For those looking to have these views year around then there are several communities that overlook this golf course.  The Tennis Villas in Monarch Beach are smaller luxury condos located directly behind the St Regis Hotel.  The condos that sit on the far north side of the complex overlook the golf course and have wonderful views looking down towards the ocean.  The condos
